BDF EXTERIOR Window Film is Awesome

I had applied BDF EXS35 EXTERIOR Window Film on my East facing windows, it is far more effective than ANY interior heat rejection window film that I've ever used. My bedroom has 50 sq-ft of East facing windows, which heats up my room too much with the morning sun. I've tried two different density interior heat rejection film, neither worked very well, both became quite hot to touch in the sunlight, with the BDF exterior window film, the hot surface is out outside exterior of the house, dropped…

Pros
  • This product is incredibly cost-effective compared to other options for blocking heat and UV radiation
Cons
  • May require a professional to remove for any necessary repairs

Good solid film. Smooth install. Looks good after 6 weeks

Solid film. Got the 50% which is a very light tint but a good balance for allowing light in. Mirror coating works well for privacy during day but any back lighting and the jig is up!

Pros
  • The film can be custom cut for uniquely shaped windows, providing a bespoke solution for any property
Cons
  • May not meet building codes or standards in all areas

I have no problems with the product. It seemed to apply to the glass like it should have and has stayed really well. The problem that I have with my order is that I specifically ordered this product two day air @$30 because my customer needed it. It took seven days for the product to get to me. Why did I spend the extra money on two day air when I received it in seven days?

Pros
  • This product can provide a significant boost in property value for those looking to sell their homes or commercial properties
Cons
  • May not be covered by insurance or warranties in the event of damage or malfunction

Work best with two people

Was all I expected in product. Installing it you need two people which I new. Went on easier than I expected. Used it on a 7 ft by 20 inch window of an RV. Looks nice.

Pros
  • The medium level of darkness provides adequate privacy while still allowing natural light to enter living and workspaces
Cons
  • May result in reduced natural ventilation

Makes a big temperature difference!

I love this stuff. Super easy! I ordered enough to do a rental property after I did my own. And I’m old! May cause decreased visibility for drivers.

Pros
  • HIGH QUALITY PERFORMANCE films that are sensitive by nature. Please remember to take caution when handling the film as the slightest fold will create a permanent wrinkle.
Cons
  • May cause decreased visibility for drivers

Easy to install and works great.

In my case I installed the film on storm windows that could be removed and laid on a flat surface. The film works great for cutting down on the suns heat and brightness without ruining the view.

Pros
  • The medium level of darkness makes this product ideal for bedrooms, where a high level of privacy is desired
Cons
  • May not be easily removable for window access and cleaning

Beats the heat! for my opinion

I've got several large windows that face the ocean and they get hot late in the day. This tint really helps cut down the heat. It used to be intense near the windows, now it's about 10 degrees over room temperature.Really cuts the glare down. It seems a little gloomy on cloudy days but looks normal when sunny.I had it professionally installed. They said it was the same as installing every other tint except it was done on the outside.

Pros
  • The film blocks up to 90% of solar heat, making it ideal for homes with large windows that get direct sunlight all day long
Cons
  • May require additional equipment or resources for proper installation

We'll see if it lasts

Does exactly what it's supposed to do: really, does a good job of blocking heat (remember, this installs on the outside of the window) from entering the house with minimal blocking of light. Also, kind of nice, it comes with a very sharp box cutter, you don't need to screw around with a dull utility knife you have laying around.Cons: - Very difficult (on a large window) to install without bubbles. I put this on a pretty large window, 9ft wide and 6 ft tall, and I have some bubbles on every…

Pros
  • FILM APPLIED ON THE OUTSIDE. It rejects heat by reflecting a lot of the solar energy out before it can even pass through the window. Sealing the edges with silicone window caulking is recommended.
Cons
  • May affect resale value of property

Easy to install good for me

The product is easy to install and doesnt take as long as youd think, great for privacy during the day. I got it for my housplants that require me to have the windows open for light to come in but I have neighbors directly across from me. This product allowed me to still have privacy but give my houseplants light

Pros
  • The film can be used on both residential and commercial windows, making it versatile for a range of applications
Cons
  • May not make a noticeable difference in interior temperature

Worked perfectly - my new review

I have a huge palladium window that gets full sun and I put this on it because I was afraid it would fade my furniture. It’s still let all the light in, but blocked the dangerous rays! Worked perfectly!

Pros
  • STRONG ADHESIVES to last many years. For easier installation, remember to use A LOT of soap/water mixture to soak both the adhesive side and window.
Cons
  • May block natural sunlight and reduce vitamin D production

Finnish is very dependent on clean glass.

The film looks great installed, the hardest part was getting the windows clean enough to not have dust spots between the glass and film, the first one I tried had to be discarded. The rest I used a drier sheet to stop static, lots of window cleaner and a razor blade on a new window. I spayed the window and film with water, placed the film and squegeed the water and air out. Final trim and the results are great.

Pros
  • The silver color of the film creates a mirrored effect that adds privacy while still allowing some visibility from the inside out
Cons
  • May not be suitable for all climates

Great product best in my review

Wasn't sure about this and went based mostly on reviews. All worked out better than expected, wasn't disappointed at all.Ended up doing every window in the house. Even saw a difference in the electric bill. What a plus!

Pros
  • The silver color of the film adds an elegant chrome finish to glass doors, creating a high-end appearance that's perfect for storefronts and office buildings
Cons
  • May not be as effective in multi-story or high-rise buildings

Good product, have help for big windows

I’d recommend either having help or putting big pieces in two.Mine clung on itself and taking it apart made it all messed up looking, I’ll order more and learn from my mistakes.Even ugly looking it helps the heat.

Pros
  • Serves it purpose
Cons
  • May require professional installation for best results

Keeps heat out in my review

It was not easy or quick to install. For some reason it kept bubbling up. However it works great keeping the sun and heat out.

Pros
  • The 24" x 50' size of this product is perfect for use on larger windows and doors where the sun can create a significant amount of heat
Cons
  • May be a challenge to apply without air bubbles or wrinkles

Definitely needed - my new review

The southern sun would bake my windows in the early to late afternoon. We applied this film to the outside of our double pane windows and what a difference it made. It doesn’t take as long to cool the house down now. There’s a definite difference in temperature standing in front of the windows.

Pros
  • It is pretty easy to install and it works for my turf to avoid melting. Good price and quality.
Cons
  • Good film but isn't that reflective not much of privacy

Does it's job for my opinion

Good product. My sliding glass door gets full sun for hours making my kitchen very HOT and creating a larger monthly electric bill. after application it was like night and day in terms of temperature! Now instead of getting HOT it's mildly warm which makes my AC put out better and keeps my house cooler in the long run. I'm now adding this to EVERY window around my house that gets full sun. Pricey for a larger roll, but well worth the investment in the long run. 10 out of 10 recommend!

Pros
  • This product is an excellent alternative to blinds and curtains, which can be expensive and require regular maintenance
Cons
  • May not be compatible with all types of exterior building materials

EASIER DONE THAN ALL SAID!

I had watched UTube videos; reaad a number of reviews, most of which complained about how difficult the installation is. Most (if not all) said it takes 2 people.for sure.to get this done right. So, when installation day came, I enlisted help in order to get it right. None of that was necessary. The help, did help me with the first window (all my windows are 48" wide x 38" tall) and there was problem none. I, by myself did 4 more windows. I was amazed at how easy and perfectly the job…

Pros
  • The film is weather resistant and will not peel or crack even in extreme temperatures
Cons
  • May require additional insulation for optimal energy efficiency

Can be difficult to install

As far as blocking visable light, it works fine. No idea of the UV-blocking ability.Installation: Do NOT attempt to put this film on the glass if there is any wind at all. The adhesive is much stronger than any interior films I have installed in the past, and it's very difficult to correct misplacement, wrinkles, air bubbles, or situations where the film folds on itself while you are trying to get it into place on the glass. This film pretty much requires to people to handle and install it.

Pros
  • This product is made from non-toxic materials, making it safe for use in homes with children and pets
Cons
  • May need to be replaced frequently, resulting in additional costs

Packaging could be better.

Box product was shipped in was crushed and caused wrinkles allalong the top roll. Was able to still do some windows. Looks great. Will be ordering more.

Pros
  • Does work to help keep the heat out.
Cons
  • Placed on Porch door on South west side of building.Did not cut heat as I expected.
