Perfect fit for 2003 vw jetta gls

Easy installation. Remove the alternator if you are not a pro. Remove the old gasket and remember to install it the same way. Mine was horizontal so I laid it horizontal. Then a new gasket and housing. Clean up a bit before installing

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

Perfect fit for 2008 Audi TT 1.8L.

Ideal for 2008 Audi TT 1.8l. Fit and finish were good. The lining is of good quality and fits perfectly. I tested the thermostat in hot water before installing it (I've had failures with new ones before). It started (as I could see) opening with the appropriate rating, so that's great. They came in an ordinary thin box, but that's the standard.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Hard to say

The car is 20 years old. previous .

The car is already 20 years old. Previously same thermostat 10, newer seems to have less quality finish but SAME model number as before. The previous gasket was square slotted, it's an o-ring and due to the reverse installation it was difficult to install as the o-ring didn't squeeze around the thermostat like it used to.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • A small change

Worked but my VW still showed a temperature problem on diagnosis

The thermostat worked on my VW but a few days later the light came back on. Everything worked fine but rebooted a few times. Unfortunately, VW hasn't leaked any emissions. Tried OEM VW and the problems went away. My mechanic said some VWs can be touchy. I would buy from these guys again. I think the VW specs are probably too narrow.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Some minor issues

Works, fits perfect, comes with gasket

Replaced the thermostat on my Jetta because the temp gauge on the dash was always cold. It turned out that the wires from the temperature sensor were frayed and just needed soldering. Spring. However, this thermostat works great and saves me a problem to take care of. The temp is as described, fits perfectly and comes with a matching gasket. I'll update if that fails, but I'll assume everything is fine.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Works, mostly good for thermostats

Seems to work, solved my problems with over cooling in summer. The engine does not get warm in winter. To be fair this is a very small offset 2.0 and perhaps the orientation of the temperature sensor is contributing to the low temperature reading. That being said the car still gets hot on cold winter days and I suspect this is due to the thermostat not closing fully or opening prematurely. It works, although maybe not as well as a higher quality part.

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • Can't remember

Cheap build - thermostats

So tinny that it warped during installation. I had to go to the local auto parts store and pick up a more reliable option. Granted, you can probably get this working if you're more careful about building than I am; but I suggest you spend a few bucks more for a better quality part. This is a very tedious job and requires a lot of disassembly to access the thermostat. So you really only want to do it once. And be sure to check out all the R&R listings on YouTube. There are many different…

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
