This is the very first beeswax I've bought and now it's my only one. I use it to make cuticle and hand oil which always comes out great. I like the consistency when adding to my natural oils, the smell doesn't bother me as I also add flavoring oils and essential oils.

Not very hard and I like it. When I smelled it in the bag it smelled funny, but a few days later I smelled it out of the bag again and it smelled like it should. So I think I sniffed the bag beforehand. This is a great price considering a small plate to protect the quilting thread from wear and tear costs the same. I put a small block in a small container and it works great. I do English newspaper shopping and it saved me money!

I opened the foil and polythene packaging and smelled a horrible chemical smell. I pulled the latch and sniffed it again, still chemical. It's a little faded, although I ordered yellow wax it's not the deep color I'm used to. It FELT like a regular block of beeswax, but the smell was NOTHING like beeswax or any type of wax I have ever smelled. What's with that chemical smell? is it a package Is this the processing equipment they use? Are hives treated with chemicals? It's really terrible.

I used to use beeswax to make my lotions. This beeswax smells bad, chemistry? Not like the beeswax I used before. I took it out of the bag and left the beeswax on it for 6 hours just in case the bad smell was just from the plastic bag. Still smells bad. This wax is a great buy at $. I use it for high temperature (700+ degrees Fahrenheit) lubrication as per the manufacturer's recommendations. I bought this set as it is the best value for what I need it for (although I use it so little for every use that it will probably never run out). This wax came in a resealable package. and appears to be carefully cleaned and well finished. Overall I'm happy with this purchase and the sweet smell of honey is a huge bonus as it melts.
