I love this book for the beginner that I am. It is educational and gives me an idea of how to embroider felt and some tricks of the craft. I'm an experienced artist and sculptor, but this is my first experience with felting. Since I love to learn new things, I thought this book would be a good start. It was a good choice. It's easy to understand and follow. I'll probably try some of the ideas there as well, although I mostly wanted tips and tricks.

The title says "Beginner's Guide". But. The designs featured here are not what I would ever consider a waste of material. Most looked like a kid could (or could have) done it, and some even looked like they had just been cut out of cheap ready-made felt and glued together. Now what's the point of buying roving, needles and a felt mat if it ends up looking like a 29 cent craft? And does anyone really want a full set of fluffy teacups and saucers? There was no mixing of colors or small details…
