Excellent router - router

I see the previous review that highlighted wireless capabilities. I didn't use it primarily for that purpose. When I used it for wireless I didn't have any issues so it might have been a different situation. My predominant use was building an Ethernet home network. It was ideal for this: easy to set up, inexpensive and reliable.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black

Quality product at an affordable price

This is one of the best routers I have ever used with ease of use, quick setup and good range. Although the speed is lower, it is often sufficient if you do not share the bandwidth with others.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • No mold required

Blocks a lot! for router

I had this modem for almost 4 years, I got it while studying, everything I could afford at the time! Pros: Cheap, easy, good range. Cons: Often disconnects and requires a reboot. Setting up the router was a little fiddly, but that's fine, as long as you can use a browser you're fine. The worst part was that the signal kept dropping and I had to restart the router every time this happened. My Macbook Air was particularly bad, it just wouldn't connect. I would rather recommend spending a little…

Pros
  • Availability
Cons
  • I have no negative feelings about it, everything is fine

Poor support for computers and accessories

After connecting the device as instructed, I could not connect to the internet. I contacted Belkin and was told they no longer support this model. It wouldn't even take you two minutes to explain how to connect to the internet. They wanted to charge me for calling premium technical support.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure

Old model runs like clockwork

Don't be fooled by the shadow of the old model. It is ideal for a wireless router at home or in very small offices. I love the feature that allows you to program it to automatically restart on a regular schedule (mine is at 2am on Sundays), which usually fixes most problems with a home router.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
