My head circumference is 63cm as far as I can tell which equates to a 7-7/8 to 8 hat size. I tried the 2XL helmet. I was able to put it on my head, but it was too small. 3XL fits better. I use it for BMX. I was afraid the cap would block my view, but it's not. The visor is ok but I have to tighten the plastic screws to keep it in place. The tote bag is good. At first this helmet contained a transparent shield and a dark shield. This costs $50. It weighs 3 pounds 12.5 ounces. Not easy and not difficult. My head measures exactly 23 1/2 inches at its widest point (just above the eyebrows). The fit is very good, a little more than tight, but it's new. Three things about this helmet.1. It is not suitable for people who wear glasses. The thin foam on the sides of the temples is protected by rigid plastic plates to accommodate the plastic pin locking mechanisms. Therefore there is very little flex in this area and not as much to allow the goggle/sunglasses compression to slide inward. Due to the MIP system, the liner constantly slips a little on the inside. I would like to share my observations on the Bell MX-9 Adventure MIPS. As I continue to use the helmet I will update this review. When opening the box.
