Safety guard holds smaller pieces to protect fingers; hooks onto bowls to collect slices; easy-turn dial adjusts thickness; save time during food prep. Easy to use; great for chips or French fries, healthy snacks, garnishes, hash browns, stir fry's and more; disassembles for easy cleaning; top-rack dishwasher safe.

Much better than expensive European mandolins

I have bought two more. One for my work kitchen and one for the house. I bought one when I was in culinary school and it has lasted for many years with semi-trained whipping help. My first one ended up breaking halfway through when my minions lost all the adjustment screws and somehow managed to damage the blade. I suggest removing the hardware holding the julienne and other blades when not in use to avoid losing them. Even if there is a safety guide on it, ALWAYS wear cut-out gloves. Mandolin…

Something is wrong with the size and price

Product measures 4.5" in product name. Product name says 3.75". We received the item and the cut area was actually about 2.75 inches. The cut surface of the "original" is too small for medium-sized apples, peppers, potatoes, etc. We returned the item. Also the current prices seem to be wrong. "Jumbo" is listed as the largest width at just $80, while the medium width "Wide Body" is listed as more expensive at $91. I think product names, descriptions and prices should be cleaned up. Although it…

I think mandolins are hard to use no matter what.

After doing a lot of research I think my expectations were pretty high. It is the single brand that stood out the most in all studies. Do not get me wrong. Good quality mandolin. It's easy to clean and I hope it will last a long time. However, I have found that some vegetables are still very difficult to cut (like carrots and jicama). I also hate the way the veggies struggle to get into the corner (because of the angled blade). As with any mandolin, you may also need Kevlar gloves. A small…

Sturdy and wider than others I've tried

I've worn through several plastic V-shaped slicers over the past few decades. In the end, they will just break somewhere and it will be impossible to fix them. I've decided to upgrade this replacement and so far I'm really impressed. The flat surface is quite wide, the whole block is very solid. I love the fact that you can adjust things so that the surface is completely flat, shielding the blade and protecting you from accidental blade contact when the device is in storage. The plastic holder…

Please note that the jumbo model (BN-120) comes with only one blade.

My rating has nothing to do with the nature of the product. I have never used it. I ordered a jumbo slicer, model BN-120. I was expecting it to have extra blades for cutting vegetables with matchsticks. But Jumbo only comes with a regular cutting blade. I was confused by other models and photos showing multiple blades. It was only after receiving the item that I went back to the description and found that the extra blades are not included with the jumbo model. Again, the jumbo model only slices
