Description of πŸƒ Kishu Binchotan Charcoal Sticks – 6 Slim Water Filters for Personal Use

Binchotan (Japanese Oak) activated charcoal is the highest grade of charcoal. These charcoals are from the Kishu region of Japan. Absorbs impurities from water - resulting in pure, great tasting water. Filtering time is approximately 3-4 hours. Slim binchotan charcoals are rare, and these have been specifically selected to fit through the mouth of personal water bottles. Use 1 stick for a personal water bottle, or use 2 sticks for a carafe. 6 sticks of binchotan charcoal included per package. Average size of each stick is approximately 0.5" in diameter and 4" in length. Individual size may vary as this is a natural product. Reactivate charcoal every two weeks by boiling for 10 minutes and letting dry.

That's great! The ideal way to reduce the amount of plastic in.

This is GREAT! The perfect way to reduce the use of plastic in our homes. we no longer need BRITA or PUR filters! Charcoal lasts just as long, purifies water perfectly and then, when its life as a water purifier comes to an end, also becomes an odor absorber. Simply air dry the stick and place it on the smelly spot. Car, shoes, I'm sure you can think of something! Great product, so glad I found it!

Pros
  • understandable even for the old ones
Cons
  • no form required

I LOVE CARBON STICKS!

I bought these charcoal pencils 2 years ago. The water is relatively good where I live, but it smells of chlorine. I divided the sticks into 3 pitchers. I cook them pretty regularly every 3-4 weeks. They still make a huge difference in the taste, smell (none!) and even mouthfeel of our water. In fact, I sometimes use water after two hours of filtration. I'm a big fan of activated charcoal for filtering and in toothpaste for super white teeth!

MUCH smaller than expected and arrived broken! Pooh.

I consider this purchase a waste of money. The description says they fit in a water bottle, but they're half the size or smaller than those sold by Black + Blum. So for $20 I probably got the equivalent of three - so Black + Blum is a better deal after all. Also, they arrived smashed! So I actually can't even use them, which makes them nil. POOH! *SUCH* waste of money.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Long wait

I got the charcoal sticks from an environmentally conscious friend who despises Brita and other plastic filter devices. They worked really well so I tried ordering my own and apparently it was the same brand they gave me. HOWEVER, they leave a chemical aftertaste in the water after boiling and drying before use (as directed in the instructions). I'd rather drink unfiltered water than the water they sat in to supposedly purify it. These charcoal sticks may not be the best way to remove…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Almost never

Liked it before, not so much now.

In use for over a year. I bought several sizes. This last order was far from satisfactory. After cooking, I put a large stick in a sanitized glass carafe and put it in the fridge. After 2 DAYS GREEN algae (?) grew in the carafe! I poured, boiled, sanitized, and used store-bought, factory-sealed drinking water to fill the carafe. He inserted the binchotan stick and waited. After 3 days the greens reappeared. It must be a stick, but I finished it anyway. The stick in question had many deep…

SO happy I found her!

It suits me! I recently moved in and the tap water in my current apartment is awful, it tastes like pure chlorine! Blah, so I started looking for ways to purify water naturally while being economical. Brita is good but takes up space in the fridge and filters get expensive over the years plus I don't like plastic containers. Home filtration systems are probably your best bet, but they're very expensive and require installation, and I'm not going to spend them on an apartment, so the next best…
