Already tried in action. Get great shots on the streets. For staged shooting in such a budget, a decent package. Memory cards are conveniently located, quick and easy to find. The FHD format is just starting to take off, so it's a great investment. There were no problems with delivery, it's nice to work with the pros.

Malfunction! best in video

My camera has a dead pixel, noticed it on 4k footage, been trying to fix an issue with Revain since I bought it 4 months ago. The biggest disappointment!

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

6K is great: camcorder

Well this is a really good camera for the price and I'll be honest I don't think there is anything better in this price range, the shots are nice and crisp sharp (if you know how to focus manually) and the menu system is very easy to use. Would highly recommend this camera to any little filmmaker.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other models

great little camera

I had the 4k version and it was great. I wanted to upgrade to 6k and with my limited usage the camera was great. Unfortunately, my device overheated and shut down several times. I spoke to BMD and they said it was a bad block so I returned it. I plan to buy it again after tax season! I would have no hesitation in recommending this device if you already have EF lenses.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Periodicity

Excellent camera at the moment

Love the camera! It arrived in good condition but had light scratches on the lid and the camera in the right corner. The plastic protecting the screen has also fallen off. I've read that Blackmagic has very poor quality control so I just put it down to the fact that the box was shrink wrapped. It is very light compared to the Canon 5D. Great for Ronin Stabilizer. Suitable for EF and EF-S lenses.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Requires socket

OK, I tried. for video

I bought all the hype around this camera (or so I hoped). Bought a nice Sigma lens, rig and some other goodies for about $3,000. Unfortunately, the image you see is the only one I experienced through the camera. I hooked it up to an external monitor and was able to view the frame scene, but nothing else worked. camera, menu etc. there was no response to any button on the camera other than on/off - so disappointing. I hate returning items but I return them and move on. I hope I'm the exception…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Not automatic

For a product this advanced that brags about its "amazing shots" and has entire sections about its shots on the website, I would have expected a pretty darn good image preview. It even has a photo button. Look, I know his main purpose is filming. But if you have a photo button and show the photos on your website and also cost 2,000 you should have a simple function like this. Also, you cannot directly delete frames that have already been recorded. Just accidentally picked up 5 minutes of earth?

Pros
  • Easy setup

Great footage and reliable camera - after fixing screen defect

Only the second time with the camera in our studio and the screen failed. Horizontal lines are everywhere. The seller refused to take it back after a month. Blackmagic agreed to fix it (they were really nice) but we had to pay $50 to ship the camera to them. It seems unfair to pay for a seemingly defective camera. Now we have disabled the camera. Also, we really liked the footage we received from a shoot. I will update over time. Update 4/6/20: It took about a month and several follow-ups to…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • piggy bank price

Dead pixels are best for video

I have purchased four (4) 6k cameras. Dead pixels appeared on all four cameras in less than 4 months. All cameras were purchased directly from Revain and not a third party. We only shoot indoors and rarely move equipment and only use Canon lenses. We shoot 2-3 times a week for about 4 hours a day. We have never experienced this with any other brand. Does anyone else have the same problem? Update: I was able to fix the dead pixels on two cameras by running the pixel remapping function (be sure…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • No instructions
