I have a lot of old brass. I've used a variety of cleaners and polishes over the years. It's easy to use and leaves a nice, soft polished look instead of the hard, shiny look that comes with most cleaners. I was under the impression that this is a mild cleaner that will not attack brass. BUT it didn't work the way I hoped. So maybe it's a compromise. When the rag was dry I lightly dampened it with water and after the initial moisture dried it stopped working.

Our designer suggested replacing all of the original rusty brass door hardware in our new apartment but we decided the cost was too high at the moment. Unhappy at having to look at those dark brown and greenish doorknobs and signs, we bought this fabric hoping it could improve something. I had to polish 4 things. 2 small sailboats, a small table about 12 inches in diameter and a tapestry. It is good that a cloth illuminates the boats and could hardly make a table. It stank to high heaven and the fabric turned really dark black from what they say was a strong scraper. My hand and wrist hurt from rubbing so hard.
