An indispensable tool when buying a used car.

I recently bought a used car which I thought was a really good deal. As part of my pre-purchase inspection, I checked under the oil cap for milk residue and checked for white smoke coming from the tailpipe. Despite the lack of these telling signs, this car still had a head gasket leak, which eventually led to coolant loss and overheating. I bought this tool to confirm this and it did it in minutes. This tool allowed me to confirm an HG leak early before it could seriously damage other engine…

When Buying A Used Car Buy This First

This product is excellent for locating flue gas leaks and cooling systems. It won't tell you where the leak is, but if, like me, you've had persistent air bubbles in your cooling system, your spill tank will pick up coolant but not send it back to the radiator as the engine cools. I wasn't sure if there was air being sucked in somewhere near the water pump we just replaced, or if it was coming from the head gasket. This product gave me the opportunity to find out, rather than either A: checking

The results for me were negative, yes!

I had a huge overheating problem with my 1984 Ford F-250 a year after I rebuilt this truck, engine and transmission. Except for the paintwork, everything on this truck has been renewed. The first episode was when he overheated so badly that the radiator failed. It turned out that the new water pump gasket was leaking, but the radiator and new water pump that came out at the same time are suspect. I'm no auto mechanic by the looks of it, but I've done my best to fix this issue. After replacing…

Used to confirm or confirm a dealer's diagnosis

Quality construction. Arrived quickly on Prime. BACKGROUND I used it to confirm (?) the Honda dealer's diagnosis that "coolant was down two liters - see bubbles in radiator - do not drive - should diagnose further". After seeing the bubbles, they said they opened up the engine and checked for leaks. All cylinders less than 3%. Then they said they had to do a five guest test but they didn't have time that night. They wanted to leave it overnight and continue working on it, but that didn't fit…

Well designed and useful tool

Not a bad kit. I was impressed with the design and the utility of the tool. It is a thick-walled plastic tube sealed at both ends with solid rubber stoppers. A small amount of liquid reagent is added to the tube, which is then pushed into the cooler filler neck. The included rubber bulb is then pressed against the top of the tube and slowly inflated several times. This draws gases from the condenser through a porous metal aerator, bubbling them into the reactants. After several pumps, the…
