Unsatisfactory, upset with this product.

When the disk is completely clogged, and it will be necessary to throw a large volume on it again. for example 100 GB at a time - here he will show himself from the worst side. The copy speed will collapse to 20 Mb/s easily. Tested on 4 discs. Everywhere equally slows down.

Pros
  • While it works.
Cons
  • Hell of a brake. The slowest drive in my memory. The tiled recording (SMR) technology did not benefit this disk.

Just super, the product is made wonderfully, very satisfied.

Works 24/7 paired with HGST HTE7210. Does not interfere with sleep at night (it is in the laptop). Toshib did not take it because of the negative experience with the 1TB model, although HDD is a lottery in a sense) Sometimes server ones immediately stall. Experience with discs is just great.

Pros
  • Quiet Not heated While working
Cons
  • Not for me at the moment. Write speed up to 90 Mb/s.

I am amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

Arrived on time, well packaged. not just in a pimply film, but there is a special filler for parcels, then the goods inside the box will not hang out.

Pros
  • The disk works, smarts are normal, after the test the temperature is 38 degrees. Many write about the noise, did not notice during the tests. I bought it to replace a terabyte in a laptop. The first disk cost wd blue m.2 at 512, 3 years normal flight. Tests were done via usb 3.0, useful capacity shows 1.82 TB. About head parking. Under Windows, yes, for some reason it often parks. Under Linux, everything is regular, but because Since this is the main system, I conclude that Windows cannot work with disks, and besides, ntsf is a morally obsolete fs and perhaps frequent parking of heads is associated with this.

Terrible quality, disappointed with the purchase.

At first everything was fine, after 3 months some files can not be opened (it's good that there was another copy of these files on the external HDD Seagate Backup Plus Hub 6 TB). I scanned the Victoria HDD program, found 11 bads (marked as blue with a cross). Do not buy this HDD, it is NOT reliable, if in a laptop, it is better to buy a Netac N600S 2TB SSD (it costs 8845), and if in a stationary computer, then HDD 3.5 '' is better, they are more reliable.

Pros
  • speed on the new hdd. (serial, both for reading and writing)
Cons
  • Reliability, low random read speed, VERY low random write speed, expensive, SMR write. After 3 months fell down.

The worst purchase in my life, dont repeat my mistake

I did not expect such rubbish from WD. All drives before that are WD only. Just money thrown away. The disk didn't really work. It's just that the laptop gradually began to lose it. Five times it helped to turn off, pull out / insert the disk. Then everything - the disk is over. As they say: WD is not the same .

Great product, best quality.

Different pros: I took it as a second pair to the already existing ones, put it in the NAS Synology 416slim. I assembled a 5.4 TB SHR array. Everything works well. The speed is acceptable. Has some cons: A bit noisy, but all 4 disks are rarely used, so the disks are mostly not audible, the fan muffles them :)

Received an OEM disc, not retail as pictured

This is an OEM disc and does not have a retail label as shown in the product description. I'm pissed because I specifically wanted to avoid the OEM disc and bought this because the product photos showed a retail label. As you can see, this is a blank white OEM control label. Luckily, Western Digital's website says it's covered by a two-year "limited warranty," which is a lot better than my previous experience with OEM drives sold through Revain. Product under warranty. This is the specified…

Revain no longer knows how to ship hard drives

This is amazing - the first unit I received was thrown into a softmail folder along with another part of my order (a book-sized box). A bare drive, "protected" only by an anti-static sleeve, could shift around in the mailbox and be subjected to the shocks inherent in modern delivery. Of course, with a full-surface scan, 10% of the scan resulted in a click, click, noise and it could no longer be adjusted. Apparent hardware error. Revain sent a replacement, this time with a couple of airbags in…

Already dead when it arrived. On internal hard drives

This hard drive has arrived DOA. I had to go to a computer store and ask them to test it out to find out. I bought it along with the cartridge it fits in to replace the CD drive in my Lenovo t420 laptop. I assumed the problem was with the hard drive cartridge, but it turned out that wasn't the case. The cartridge works great and I bought a Hitachi hard drive from a computer store. I am very surprised that Western Digital makes good hard drives and it is very uncommon for one of their drives to…

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • I don't really like it, it's ok

Western Digital went under - bad, very bad hardware design

These latest drives have a thin piece of aluminum foil on top to protect the drive mechanism from the elements. 45 days after installing 4 of them in RAID they all failed. Western Digital treats all drives purchased through Revain as OEM and does not warrant them. Revain only has a 30 day return policy so 4 discs go in the trash. I used to work for Western Digital and their quality and design have dropped a lot. Hard drives are fragile, but not that fragile, and a small impact will ruin the…
