☕ Bodum Eileen French Press: Stunning 34 oz Chrome Brewer for Rich Coffee Review

Love it! Very sweet and makes me two large cups of coffee. Easy to clean. Easy to fill. For those who say it breaks or rusts easily, they don't really care.

These french presses look great in pictures but add me to the list of people who have broken glass carafes. Borosilicate glass is too fragile to transport unless special care is taken. (And in this case it was NOT).

This was a replacement for a very cheap French press which broke when I tried to remove the press from the jug. This product is great, easy to use and very durable. In addition, it is easy to clean the coffee. I highly recommend.

This French Press looks elegant, works very well and makes delicious coffee. Would give it five stars except for two reasons: (1) The glass could really be recycled. The glass is ultra-thin and brittle, making its durability very questionable. I think that even the smallest hit can break (2). When pouring out the cleaning kit, I have to keep a finger or two on the glass to keep it from slipping out of the metal sleeve. But overall I like it and would still recommend it.

An excellent buy in terms of value for money. Pretty standard French bank so at least you know what you're getting. Some cons: I get a lot of fines for this. Even if I use a method that should reduce them significantly, that's more than I can imagine. Also, it was sent with a lot of creases at the edge of the filter, so I need to place it in a specific spot so I don't get even more penalties. The glass is very thin. When I cleaned it after the third use I noticed a crack in the plastic on the bottom edge. The tear may have been there since I received it (but it's too late to return it). The reason I think it might have been there all along is because the glass carafe has been very loose in its holder since I received it. I thought that's the way it should be. I tried to learn how to brew coffee but there is no answer. There are some coffee bags that have specific brewing instructions, but this French Press has its own. Shows signs of damage and ensures a tight seal inside the glass jar. The screen is fine enough to pick up almost all of the grind in the last cup, and last cup settling was minimal when using the correct coarse grind. This press is absolutely gorgeous in person. I didn't notice any sharp edges and the chrome finish is smooth and hassle free. And water stains, if they occur after air drying, can be easily wiped off.
