I usually buy the cheapest filters assuming they are all the same. This time I went on a whim and bought an expensive OEM paying x2. Well it looks like it was worth it - the fit is a lot tighter than before. My guess is that the air used to move around my old filter, it should now move through it. A clear victory on the spot.

Contrary to the description, this is not for the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan. The picture shows the correct picture of the 2018 Tiguan cabin filter, but the actual item I received was not. (I only found out yesterday, right after opening the cabin filter compartment. It was a rectangular filter, not the one in the photo.)

You can't win with Revain and auto parts. The photos posted look like what I need for my SUV. The app says it's comparable to my SUV. Then I get the product and we make a wrong part with the right or wrong label. I suspect the former since the other images show a square filter. This combined with the wipers I bought from Revain also suggests they may not be able to source the correct parts/versions.

It has a horrible chemical smell when you first install it, you wonder what treatment chemical you are inhaling. It takes some time to "weather". I don't joke about changing every 12,000 miles. At 9000 miles there is no airflow through the filter. The filter doesn't look dirty at all. I typically replace the OEM Mann canopy filter every spring, which for me equates to about 20,000 miles.

I ordered this filter to replace my old smelly filter. Easy to install, not flimsy or deformed during installation. The airflow was not affected. I think the reason most reviewers claim they have problems is due to improper installation and airflow direction.
