Bosch SP0F000012 Copper Tubing Installation Review

Matches my oil pressure gauge perfectly. I closed the plastic line and installed copper. Many trails won't let you run plastic lines to your gage pressure, I did this for safety reasons

I know the heat resistant plastic tube that comes with the gauge should work but I have never trusted plastic where there is a heat source that can ruin everything. I now have peace of mind driving my old '58 Ford Ranchero.

Brass nuts are weak and prone to cracking and chipping. Maybe they are what they're supposed to be, but they leak when they're not tight. It's like a VERY fine line between a leaky gauge and a broken thread. Edit to add that even if you get it right and it doesn't spill, it will eventually come loose and spill oil onto your floorboards.

I've seen a couple of reviews mentioning stripped threads on the fittings but I thought 'No way! Bosch is a good brand!” Well, after installation, I cleaned up oil on the carpet of my 1948 Ford hardware. Luckily it didn't damage the threads on the gauge (I checked with fittings made from an old plastic pipe) so I'm going to the hardware store now, which is where YOU should go before you make the same mistake.

Torn or defective internal thread. I had to go to the fittings and buy a new compression fitting and coupler. Cost me $3. Still, it's better to go to a local store and buy the hardware yourself. This is cheap Chinese quality at its finest. Absolutely annoyed that I had to stop work and drive to the store, which probably cost me $3 for gas and 45 minutes of my time.
