This is a comfortable chair with plenty of padding. Soft faux leather. The base is plastic rather than steel, but just as strong. The armrests aren't as strong, being attached with just two screws instead of four on other chairs. However, this allows the chair to "flex" when the person leans back, making it more comfortable. The main downside (if it matters to you) is that the color is not the same as the picture on the web. The color is actually chestnut brown, not medium brown.

If you don't like shades of brown do not buy for the color as it is darker than pictured. The assembly is not easy, but the quality is good. Not as comfortable as it looks with little arm contact and the chair is comparatively small. In addition, the material in the lower back area feels very warm compared to a fabric chair. 4.5 years later post-control. The dent came out about a week later. The chair is still a little wobbly but I wouldn't say it's gotten any worse from day one. In terms of stability, it's holding up well. My problem is that after about 4 years the vinyl started peeling off the seat. This was due to normal wear and tear (not a manufacturer fault) but I wish it could have lasted longer as the chair is otherwise fine.
