I love this product! It's a bit more expensive but worth it. There is very little plastic in it and it can do so many things. I've made "French fries" and thinly sliced potatoes before. I love that you can adjust the thickness of the cut or set it to cut in waves, cut thin strips/fries, or cut thicker strips/fries. When we decided to buy a mandolin, I did a lot of research. I've read many, many reviews of different brands and styles. We checked them out at local stores in May. I just wasn't happy with their quality and durability. We chose this Bron Original stainless steel mandolin. Worth the price! Design, strength, sharpness and easy cleaning.
