Each cartridge in this set dispenses toner into the printer. Since they weren't needed until after the return period had passed, we're now stuck with expensive junk and essentially a scrapped printer. It is not known whether these cartridges are fake, but other reviews show that our case is not an isolated case.

When I installed the TN227BK cartridge it left black spots on every page I print. Brother customer service confirmed that the cartridge I received was a genuine Brother machine and that the only solution to this problem is to replace the cartridge. This is the first aftermarket toner I've bought that doesn't have the same print quality issues as printer manufacturers and is a lot cheaper!

We bought 2 sets of Brother TN227 4 High Yield Color Toners as we have two printers that accept them. We installed new toners, all 3 had to be replaced and ran a calibration/test page that had magenta specks all over the printed page and a yellow line across the entire side of the paper. Well packaged and delivered on time. Compared to other printers I've had, they're a bit difficult to use on the first try.

I tried another brand of toner and the color was washed out. Another brand is not even recognized by the printer. I wasted my money and time --- I just threw the whole batch in the trash.

I've tried several times to use off-the-shelf toner. They just don't do justice to the original. They offer excellent print quality. With any toner, they just don't last as long as they should, but still longer than ink. I still think it's crazy that the toner costs more than the printer itself!
