I have been using Bigelow shaving cream for several years now. I would give five stars all the time. However, the last tube I received was not a soft cream. It was cream colored, as hard as plaster of paris. What happened? Maybe the expiry date has already passed. Anyway, I tried squashing it a few times to make it usable and finally gave up. I almost threw away a full tube. Hardly worth sending back.

I think I read somewhere - maybe it was a review here - that it's actually Proraso with the CO Bigelow label. Even if it isn't, you'll have a hard time spotting the difference. I liked it but I can't live without it. Good foam, pleasant smell. But I don't think anyone will be disappointed. First of all I give this one five stars for the smell and effectiveness, I can't use it because apparently I'm too sensitive to menthol and it irritates my skin. However, I strongly recommend it for those who do not have such a sensitivity. It was definitely worth trying and I've sent it to a friend who hopefully can use it.

About 15 years ago my late stepmother gave me this tube. This not only makes shaving more comfortable, but also very valuable. I can literally use this pea-sized amount to make a daily (well - almost daily) shave a very good experience. While a large tank can last over a year and isn't the best option for saving space when traveling (despite being fully TSA compliant), it's a great option for people like me who rarely fly. I have been using Proraso for many years but recently decided to give Bigelow a try. Very satisfied. Doesn't seem to dry as quickly as Proraso and has more glide. Foams well. Also comes in a small travel tube. Everyone has different beards and faces, but I intend to stick with Bigelow.
