I got this extension for my webcam for my laser cutter, set everything up and tried to use it and it gave me broken shutter video images. I decided to pull my 10 year old Apple USB 2 Extender out of my computer to try it out and the picture and video quality was perfect. I have purchased several of these 10ft cables. Home to extend the charging cable for our cell phones. Whenever I sit down to search the web or text on my phone, the phone has no power and I'm too far from an outlet to charge it while fiddling with my phone. If your hard drive won't connect to your Smart TV like we did, try this trick. Buy one of these, a USB 2 extension cable, and plug a USB 3 hard drive cable into it, then plug it into your TV. Works great. I've tried everything, reformatted the hard drive, in multiple formats, spent hours searching the internet for a solution, then I came across this idea. I had a very long USB 2 cable and tried it, it worked, so I bought a much shorter cable as we didn't need tons of extra cables behind the TV.
