DODGE RAM 1500 2500 3500 Cabin Air Filter Access Door - Genuine OEM Quality Review

Perfect for my 2012 Ram. I cut the air intake slot with a utility knife and the lid snaps into place as expected. Since my truck is a few years old it took me a while to remove the fan motor and blow out the air intake. Not sure why Ram doesn't include this from the factory, $10,000 per truck, and they don't include a $20 filter and cap?

For the price, quality and fit this is perfect. This was installed in my 2016 Ram 1500 Big Horn. The hardest part is removing the cover that should contain the filter. Tip, use a dremel to cut the hole. I used a rotary burr dremel to get a good cut. It's a hard place and thick plastic, and a knife will be very hard. After that, this front door will click nicely.

Most inconsistencies are due to a lack of attention to detail. I cut out the AC box exactly as directed including two small notches and the door popped up and the latches snapped into place, not cutting the notches for the legs at the bottom of the door makes it difficult to access the door in the correct position these notches are marked notch by notch, you just have to look closely.

Very easy to install. I used a dremel with a cutting attachment and then used a shop vacuum to pick up all the plastic shavings. Snaps on easily and closes the filter perfectly. I also removed the upper glove box. It has become much easier to reach and see the cutting area. I also loosened 1 screw holding the top box. So I think when the airbag deploys it's going to be more like a claymore. Good game.
