Low Quality Firewire Cable - Avoid

This cable is a nightmare for computers .My analysis of this product showed that it is poorly constructed and unreliable. Although it may have a low price, its NOT worth it in the long run. The only pro I can think of is that it works for a short period of time, but then fails after a few uses. The cons far outweigh any benefits as it can cause damage to your computer and data loss. Avoid this cable at all costs..

It does what it was designed to do

I bought this because I bought a newer Imac that no longer has FireWire 400 ports, only faster 800 ports. I have a couple of camcorders with me Mini FireWire Ports I used to connect to the FireWire 400 ports on older computers. When I decided to go back to the original tapes, I needed a cable that could connect FireWire DV to the newer 800 ports. This cord fit the bill as expected. It worked exactly as expected and at a great price.
