Check connection

Check USB-C side if you keep crashing but other than that it works. I also needed a null modem to connect, but it works fine.

Mac Book needs a quality cable that only has USB-C Works great! I always find what I'm looking for at a reasonable price and great quality at Cable Matters.

Ease of Use and Updates

After installing the drivers from the website that came with the package, I had no problems with the Dell XPS. Great product that just worked for me. Much easier than my USB serial console cable which I couldn't find suitable drivers for.

FRAUD. USB TYPE-A NOT USB-C DIFFERENT FROM PICTURE

They sent me a cheap USB Type-A to BENFEI serial adapter cable from the BENFEI brand, which is made of black plastic, obviously not what's in the picture can be seen picture. I bought (USB Type-C to serial adapter cable). DO NOT BUY! LOSS OF YOUR TIME AND MONEY!

This worked fine on a new MacBook Pro with USB-C ports.

This worked fine on the new MacBook Pro with USB-C ports. The supplied driver CD could not be used because the computer did not have a CD/DVD drive. However, it includes a link to the latest driver and website instructions. It took less than 10 minutes from unpacking to using the cable.

Pros
  • Computer cable adapter
Cons
  • No power

Good value for computers and accessories

I bought this to replace a USB A serial adapter that the latest driver no longer supports. This one works great and is compatible with the chip manufacturer's latest driver, which means it's not a fake third-party chipset. I no longer have to run a reset script to uninstall and reinstall a driver and then reboot before using it. This cable works every time I plug it in with no errors, which is a nice change. Great product, well worth it and I will be buying many more for my business.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Powered by 2018 MacBook Pro (15 " i9)

I need an RS-232 interface to program legacy automation and security systems. Having used Keyspan/TrippLite devices in the past, was looking I was looking for an inexpensive USB-C option that I could toss in my bag without worrying about losing it. This device works fine (in a Win10 VM running Parallels Desktop 14 on my 2018 15" MacBook Pro i9 with High Sierra). I chose not to install the Mac OS drivers, just the Windows drivers (updated from the CableMatters website). Works great. Thanks very…
