In what world can these things be used Where can I use my fingers to tighten screws on these things? Not much, I'll risk it. Captive screws must be replaced with screws that can be tightened with a screwdriver, preferably a Phillips screwdriver. The connector itself fits snugly enough, but there's little room to manipulate the screws with your fingers

I bought these to use my existing HDMI cables with some monitors that only have DVI outputs. Some cables have them on both ends (DVI->HDMI->DVI) and others only DVI->HDMI) - my GPU has a number of different types of connectors so I had to swap things around a bit to get all the monitors in connected. The adapters worked great no matter how confusing the fitting was, so I'm very happy with them.

This adapter has greatly reduced the amount of clutter I have to take with me on the go. Adapters work very well. They allow me to carry just one HDMI cable with me and I can connect any monitor in any office I work in. Some monitors don't have HDMI so the DVI option doesn't increase what I have to take with me. using my laptop was a big plus.

This adapter works as intended and is the best value for DVI female to HDMI male but buyers should do their research Be aware if you need two HDMI ports side by side this adapter will not work. The housing of the adapter is very wide. So if the HDMI port is too close to other ports (which is common on many computers and TVs), other ports will be blocked. This works very well for single isolated HDMI ports, but I wouldn't recommend it for high-density HDMI enclosures.

While this adapter works fine with the DVI port on my Powerbook G4, it doesn't work with my Mac Mini model A1103. Support has replied but no reply yet. Searching the web revealed this may be an Apple issue with early Mac Minis, even though they have a DVI connector (if this adapter fits) it may not work with HDMI. The description should include this information so that early Mac Mini buyers are aware. If another answer is provided I will update. I only give 4 stars because of improper use. Good

I used these for old NEC monitors when setting up a PC in my shop. My GPU has both HDMI and DVI outputs while my monitors only have VGA and DVI.
