CableMod AIO Sleeving Kit Series 1 for Corsair Hydro Gen 2 - Black - CM-ASK-S1KR-R Review

I like the grommets themselves, I used them 4 or 5 times during assembly. Every time I complain about bad fasteners. They don't always fully connect to some of the AIOs they have to fit on, and sometimes they're too big for some of the AIOs and slide around. The one-size-fits-all approach has evolved into a one-size-fits-all solution that rarely works for me.

So I was a bit torn on this product. First and foremost I didn't want to change the color of the hoses, but to hide the various fan cables coming from the water block of my H100 v2. I couldn't find a neat way to route them, so I finally taped them to the water pipes and covered the whole thing with these sleeves. Looks great, but those clips are impossible (I ended up getting 2 out of 4 right, the rest just stuck). There must be an easier way!

I used this with a Gamdias Chione M1A-240R monoblock. It was a few inches shorter but not too noticeable. After reading reviews about how difficult it is to use the clips I just decided not to use them, plus I'm planning to buy another AIO anyway and wanted to keep the clips for that. I tried to get them to work with H55 but they are too big and look silly so have to remove them. I cut them out, so I basically threw $20 down the drain. But anyway, if you have a supported product, they work fine. Also, the Kraken x62 and H55 tube size is almost identical. So I think Kraken would be a better fit. I'm giving 3 stars because CableMod is too limited in its support for this handset.

As much as I was hoping this would be a good product to spruce up my H100i V2, unfortunately it isn't. I think this will be a comeback for me. They look great in all marketing materials and I'm sure if you can install them they will look great too! Unfortunately I could not mount the clamps around the pipe. It seems there was too much bushing which made the pipe + bushings too thick for the clamps. Another issue that came up was the design of the clamps themselves. This set is good value and does exactly what it says on the tin. The braid itself is pretty easy. I played around with the clips a bit but finally figured it out. You can install it without removing AIO from the system. I even got half the job done with a working system, although I wouldn't recommend it. The clips snap in well and the case itself is stiff enough not to fall out easily. I don't expect to have to reinstall it if I make modifications to my heatsink or need to remove it entirely…

Love this product! Now that this is out of the question, I can explain why. Despite reviews of this product being difficult to install due to non-genuine plastic covers, I had no trouble installing it on my cooler while still in the case. They won't hurt anything, but they're not as easy to work with and not as pretty as I was hoping. First, they were a bit long for my Asetek cooler. I had to cut them off or else they would collect somewhere on the hose and look awful. Then I had to light the cut end or it would disintegrate. The clips were very difficult to work with and I chose the right ribbon so I no longer had to fiddle with it. Pros: Looks good, cut to length Cons: Waste of money when this tube is available much cheaper. The only difference is that this "kit" comes with useless and difficult to install clamps to secure the ends of the sleeves. They don't even hold the sleeve tightly like they should; I gave up and used velcro cable ties instead. You can find braid alone for a lot less, it's just hard to cut, but worth it considering you'll be left with leftover cords and other stuff.
