Works as advertised

Got this bundled with a Caldigit hub, I tested it with a MacBook Air on a 4K monitor, it works fine. finally stop working. Good quality fit and finish.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Expensive

Ideal for Valve Index and Asus G14!

Valve Index uses Displayport and many gaming laptops don't have DP out but USB-C. I still get maximum resolution and refresh rate settings on my Index with no noticeable performance hit. Valve Index is now more portable as I am no longer tied to my desktop!

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Simple and flawless

I used it with my Lenovo P15 with Fedora Linux because the official docking station seems to be pretty much non-functional. This adapter was plug and play and worked on my 2k display at 60Hz with no flickering or artifacts. If it works on Linux, that usually means it works on almost anything.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Weak set

When used with Mac Pro 2019 Rack - Not stable

Used this item for our second 1920 x 1080 display - on Mac Pro 2019 Rack - 16 Cores - Radeon Pro W5700X - Big Sur. When using this Cal DIGIT USB-C to HDMI converter, the desktop image for the main display connected directly to the computer will revert to the default desktop image after a typical reboot. The desktop image for the monitor connected to this device remains selected. So, out of curiosity, we switched this adapter from Apple USB C to HDMI and everything works great. Not sure what it…

Is it really USB-C?

This works... but only on the TB3 port of my new CalDigit docking station. Haven't tested this on my USB-C docking station yet, but will soon. Now that I've tested this on an OTHER CalDigit dock (USB-C SOHO model), it doesn't work with the USB-C port either. It seems really silly to suggest it's bundled with a CalDigit TS3 dock when it doesn't work with the USB-C connectors that come with the dock. and only when connected to the second port of TB3. FWIW also doesn't work with the USB-C 3.1 Gen…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!

  • This is driving me insane

First USB-C to HDMI adapter that checks all my boxes

I'm very picky about how my displays look and unfortunately recently I've had to use adapters to convert video signals to convert the native signal in contrast quality. Working at 4k60 resolution in a wide color space I've had issues in the past with three different adapters giving me some variability but more importantly bleeding and haloing images to create high contrast. Here are some pros and cons of the CalDigit adapter: Pros: - No ghosting or jitter like I've seen in the past! - Fantastic

Pros
  • Connectors and adapters
Cons
  • There are nuances
