Camco 40559 Dual Propane Tank Cover - Heavy-Duty Polar White (20lb or 30lb) Review

Seriously. The hardest part about this setup was figuring out why people are giving this item less than 4 stars. It came with extra screws. It came with assembly instructions (I would have used a ratchet instead of a wrench but whatever). Very easy. Perfect fit for my tanks. I love the patch! I would caulk the nuts and bolts to prevent rust or replace them with stainless ones. That's all. A good thing.

My original case has seen better days. A few years ago it broke from being exposed to all kinds of conditions, including being hit by branches. I've put off buying an enclosure but realized the elements were clogging my propane pigtails so I decided to take a chance and buy it. I also like that I can remove the screws and lift the lid to see the propane sensors. I have two (2) 30 pound propane tanks and they fit perfectly.

This device needs to be adjusted to match the language. I used scissors. It may also be necessary to redo the floor so the gas hoses don't rub. The protrusions on the bottom aren't enough to secure the device and you need to figure out how to fix that. I drilled two holes in the front and used butterfly clips in the back and screwed on decorative plant hangers in the front and then attached the bungee to the wheel carrier. It's pretty safe now. I would go to Canvas if I knew how difficult it is

So here is my first review, I finished it quickly. The instructions say not to overtighten. The reason is that it pulls out cheap flimsy plastic. What really needs to be there is a slightly larger bolt with washers on each end to prevent this from happening (which I'll probably do myself later). It covers my propane tanks and gives a nice clean look so it was a worthwhile purchase for me. However, I have no idea why they bothered to make a small hole on the top - it's difficult to screw/unscrew the buttons on the top and damage the plastic pins that prevent them from unscrewing every time loosen when you touch them. I went from 20lb cans to 30lb cans and had to upgrade the cap as well. I'm pretty sure the cap that came before was from the same manufacturer and I've had good luck with that so thought this one would be a suitable replacement.
