Description of Camco 44105 Adjustable Fridge Block

Hold your fridge and freezer door open during storage to promote ventilation and help prevent mildew growth. High strength magnet holds the block in place, preventing the door from swinging open. Drawstring adjustment accommodates thick or thin doors. Keep the block as a magnet on your fridge when not in use so you don't lose it during the camping season. Also accommodates single door refrigerators.

Doesn't work for my fridge

Great idea but my fridge has a big gap between the freezer compartment door and the fridge door. It also doesn't seem to have much magnetic endurance. I could have tried making the "cap" bigger to hold both doors, but at that point it just turned into a trash can.

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Good in theory but doesn't work

Magnet is tiny. Even where he wants to sit, there is no metal on the fridge. The metal is actually above and below where this item would be on the back, so there's nothing to grab hold of. If it worked the back would have to be a wider flat plate with stronger magnets.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Absolutely useless

These devices are useless for Norcold 1200+ series devices. The magnet does nothing at all. The only thing I wanted was for them to keep the door gap flat for storage and I found them to fall out very easily even when the cords are taut. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY A MONEY LOSS.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Poor magnet, best for fridges and parts

Good concept but needs improvement. The magnet is weak. The round hold isn't big enough for my freak. He keeps sliding so the door can open. The clasp is weak too. The clasp can be released with light pressure. It is easy to use and install, only the product needs a much-needed upgrade with the materials used.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Good but not great

Doesn't fit in my fridge on wheels

later I was hoping I could get the job done but no luck. It looks like it will handle the right type of van cooler. I have a Norcold and the handles/latches are between the doors (top of fridge and bottom of freezer) rather than on the sides of the doors so the doors are too far apart for this unit to reach them both. There is also no metal to attach a magnet to. Everything is fine with the device itself.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • I'll add

A simple piece of pool noodle works best.

This is the recommended tool for keeping my fridge and freezer doors open to prevent mold. But its magnet isn't strong enough to stay in place while traveling; The doors grab him and he slides, eventually opening the doors wider than desired or expected. I wouldn't buy this again. I cut off an inch of pool noodle, cut it in half on one side, and placed it in the area between the fridge and freezer doors. This keeps them open. Then I just wrapped some tape (that won't slide off or leave a sticky

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
