Nice little camera

I bought the Canon EOS M3 because of its size, sensor size and the fact that lenses can be changed - I wanted to be able to use Canon EOS accessories and even lenses. It's true that using relatively large DSLR lenses with this camera isn't ideal; The point is, you *can* use them if you can put up with slow focus and the balance situation of "tail wagging the dog". I wasn't planning on using full-size DSLR lenses with this little camera, so I'm not disappointed. The 18-55mm lens in this kit is a

Good NOT Excellent Camera

Excellent Camera! However, this is a camera with a high learning curve for capturing exceptional shots. Autofocus is good, not great. A moving object is difficult to catch. Subjects in low light are difficult to capture. The sound quality for the video is acceptable, but again not very good. I added a Rode Video Micro ($59) and the sound quality was exceptional. The battery life is so-so. I took about 120 photos and only 5 minutes of video and the battery was flashing red. The second battery…

Great travel camera

I have a Canon 5DS and a range of professional lenses but I was reluctant to take them on a family holiday to Europe. So I chose this camera. The camera is of course not as fast as my DSLR. It takes longer to power on, takes longer to focus, and takes longer to recover from the shot. Autofocus is easier to fool, so you end up with more blurry shots. However, once you get used to the slowness, the camera works very well. I took about 400 raw photos and after a little adjustment in the light room

Canon EOS M3 mirrorless camera - about half the price of the M5

This little camera has a lot of power. A little gem for a photographer who always shoots in RAW format. I live in Colombia. There are areas in this country where it's not recommended, my Canon EOS 5D MII and my favorite L lenses. This little car is a decent camera to take anywhere. However, it has two disadvantages: a) no built-in viewfinder and b) focusing problems. The built-in viewfinder issue was addressed by Canon with the release of the Canon EOS M5. However, it costs almost twice as…

Great camera at a reasonable price

To be honest I love this camera. I've owned it for a year now and have used it for a variety of purposes from filming to photoshoots to travel photos. For those who didn't know much about cameras for the first half year of use, this camera was impressive and gave me some really unique shots. Let's start with my favorite features: The movable screen is incredibly useful. On the screen, you can not only take cute selfies and vlogs, but also take pictures from an angle. Especially when I'm…

Small camera that can

My main camera is a Canon 6D and also a 7D Mark II. I have been an amateur photographer since the mid 1960's and used Leica, Minolta and Contax film cameras before moving to the Switched to my first Canon 10D digital camera in 2000. In 2004 I switched to a Canon 10D and thought I'd never use anything other than a DSLR since then. However, I've looked at other cameras from time to time and thought there might be a smaller and lighter alternative that I would most likely take with me. Like most…

Excellent image quality

A few years ago, Peng-To and I were talking about mirrorless cameras. I spent some time with the EPL-1 back then. The EPL-1 did a good job of pretending to be a good camera: shutter speeds were fast and the preview image looked sharp and nice. But once you've imported the images into Lightroom, the results are ugly: you quickly realize that the focus was out of focus most of the time, and while the images were usable at times, you were never proud of them. Even point shots and shots like the…
