Love this easy to use Canon PowerShot and it's LOTS of features

This is my husband's camera but I've been using it quite a bit lately as my other two very old digital cameras have finally moved on to this huge graveyard Electronics Certainly I like them more than any of my previous cameras and my husband is happy to share them. (One was a Nikon and the other was actually another Canon, the PowerShot A1100IS, which lasted YEARS and worked great under heavy use, but was thicker and heavier and required AA batteries.) First, it's smaller and weighs less.…

Great little camera

I've been looking for a compact non-DSLR camera for about a year. I've been waiting for the ELPH350 but the lag was constant and the only difference between the 340 and 350 was 4 megapixels and $60. I have read that the human eye can no longer make any further distinctions from 12 megapixels, but at some point the pixels become so small that the eye can no longer see them either. I decided to buy the 340 and accessory kit for $22. It's a great little camera that's a lot better than my phone's…

Handy feature camera for on the go

Bought this to use from time to time when I couldn't/couldn't lug my T3i around; It also replaces my SD1400is (2010). So far I'm happy with the quality and feature richness of this camera! Pros: Good image quality Fast focusing Wi-Fi/NFC capability Smooth/great HD quality Cons: The body is quite light, I like/used to do heavier shots. I miss the cool aluminum body of the SD1400is. No USB cable is supplied - I'm sure you may already have a spare mini USB (barrel) cable, but that would be nice…

Increased optical zoom is a victory over smartphone cameras

Nowadays, many people use the cameras built into smartphones to take photos and videos. After all, my Galaxy S4 has a 16-megapixel camera and can record HD video, geotag photos and post them to Facebook, all on one device, so why would I need a separate, standalone digital camera at all? 12x optical zoom. Yes, digital zoom can be used on the phone, but this reduces the image quality and "fills in" gaps. The optical zoom actually zooms in on the subject at full 16MP resolution. This way your…

Great camera with some new Wi-Fi features.

Update 9/2/16: Years later the camera still works well, we haven't managed to break it yet and it's holding up well. Just like the day it was new. This camera requires some training compared to my previous ELPHS as it has many new features that none of them had. On our last ELPH, the screen died when condensation formed in my back pocket on a hot, sweaty day. The camera still works, there's just no screen to know what's going on with the photos you take. This will be my 3rd or 4th ELPH and I…
