Nice little camera for the average person

I only use this camera occasionally because most of the time I need a faster camera so I just use my phone. But it's better for traveling knowing you'll be taking lots of quality photos. Pros: - Relatively easy to use - Sturdy enough (I dropped it but it doesn't seem to work otherwise (see below)) - High quality photos. You can transfer images from an SD card or directly from the camera using a mini USB cable. Compact charger, easy to use. Red when loading, green when done. Very compact! It…

Pocket camera class

I leave 5 for the best and it will be the best DSLR. My 4 stars mean the best kind and this is the best of the compacts. I have a Canon L-Glass DSLR and compact cameras from Fuji, Sony, Kodak and Canon. So far this is the best compact. Large image size to work with, and image quality is excellent for the pixel density. Elegant black, beveled body. The build quality is excellent. LCD fingerprint magnet, but everyone has them. Some reviews say the video is great, others say it's not great. My…

The best point and shoot camera yet!

As an avid photographer, I appreciate a camera that takes good pictures, so I have a Canon 40D with an L-series lens and three other IS USM lenses, plus a monopod, a tripod and a bag bought. , filters etc. Then the economic downturn hit me and I needed money so I sold everything on ebay (I hated it but I had no choice). This left me without a camera, so I looked for an inexpensive soap box. After many hours of research I settled on the Powershot SD780 IS and I have to say that this thing…

What a great camera! Great camera performance, small body!

I chose this camera as an "always with you" item. I have a Canon 20D professional camera with lots of lenses and other attachments and it's HEAVY. So I don't take it except for a photo shoot. The SD780IS has one very important feature: the optical viewfinder. This is very useful in bright sunlight when you find it very difficult to use the LCD to frame a photo. Picture quality is great, HD video is excellent, only gripe is that the microphone is very sensitive to wind noise. Applying filters…

Great Digital Camera, Amazing HD Video Capture, Tiny Body and Weight

I consider myself an amateur photographer and I would probably be willing to spend more hours finding the 'right' gear than doing my homework. That's how it was when I bought this little toy. I had a Nikon D40 DSLR (one of the largest cameras) and was looking for something smaller that I could take with me everywhere. In particular, I needed something to take with me on a trip to Japan. I spent days reading reviews and testing products in stores and finally settled on this camera. I've narrowed

  • Short Guide

I was looking for a portable camera option to capture moments (photos and videos) when I didn't want to lug around my DSLR (Canon 40D) and lenses. I studied over 10 cameras and settled on the Canon SD780IS. This camera is extremely portable and fits the bill perfectly. The picture quality was good, just what I expected from the article and the recording, and the video quality was decent too, but the audio noise/hum when recording videos was a violation. After browsing Youtube (searching for…

A film studio in your pocket

I really liked this camera. Great photos with vibrant colors and super sharp focus. Even smaller than my Casio EX-S600 which was the smallest camera I've seen before the Canon SD-780 but was manageable in my larger hands. It can even take a series of still images indefinitely until the memory card is full. But the best feature is 720p HD video. The quality, as far as I can tell, is the same as the Panasonic FZ-28, which also shoots in high resolution 720p, but is a much larger (and obviously…

Canon Powershot SD780 IS

I bought this camera in Revain based on the quantity and positive reviews so I buy a lot of things here. I was not disappointed. This is a great compact camera that is excellent value for money. I work on a ship and started taking pictures of other ships to put on the internet, so I really needed a camera with a big optical zoom, but I wasn't willing to spend money on an expensive SLR. Other cartridges like the COOLPIX had more optical zoom, but reviews weren't great. Although the Canon…
