Carroll Leather 638 5 Pocket Wallet Review

This wallet seems to be of good quality. It's a bit long for me, I read in reviews that it was about 6 1/4 inches long, that's 7 inches plus. Some people like a big wallet, I prefer a smaller one that fits completely in my pocket. However, if you prefer a longer one, this is a good wallet at a great price.

This appears to be well made and American made. Has a metal pocket with a zipper. You can use a heavier chain. Bills fit without bending, but 1/4 inch longer would be great. This is a great wallet for the price. However, it won't work for me. I can't get everything I need and still close it. My old Harley wallet would hold it all and still have room. But also 4 times more expensive. There's nothing wrong with this wallet if you're traveling on the lighter side, but I can't use it.

When I first saw this wallet I was afraid it would be made out of some cheap, hard, plastic-like material. But when I received it I was pleased to find that the material is actually soft and pliable. My husband loves that cash fits in without having to fold bills. It's just the right size for the money and more than a few cards. Just received model 638, product size: 6.7 x 3.4 x 1.3 inches. Bills fit in large pockets without folding, good leather, no polyester or other pocket dividers, all leather inside and out. Reliable locks and high quality chain. I think this is the smallest model for their long purses, the next size is smaller, I think it's their tri-fold (regular) purses. At only $14 I would say a pretty good price for a product.

The quality of the wallet itself is excellent. The chain looks cheap, but what do you expect at this price? I have a chain from an old wallet that I use with this much better quality. My biggest complaint is that it can be difficult to close when you have cards in both slots. It seems like you literally have to fight the buttons to close them at first, and it gets a little easier when they're broken. Pretty good for the price. After some deliberation, I'd probably prefer a slightly larger version with a larger card slot, but it will cost a bit more. I'm doing this for now and I've found that I really don't need all the stuff I was carrying around in my old triple-fold.
