Cloth sides didn't last long on my boy. He had a hole in both of them and doesn't wear them that long and only wears them to school.

Very well made, but runs small. We ordered a toddler size 6 but compared to the other size 6's we own at Stride Rite they were a half size too big.

Having ordered 2 canvas Carter shoes that fell apart at the junction of the sock and fabric and lacked integrity, here is my answer! My almost 3 year old son has carried them a lot and they still stand. Soft, form fitting, easy to put on (whether on right foot or wrong foot). I liked them so much that I took a pair of larger ones with me as spares.
