Great Price: Cycling

I'll admit I was a bit skeptical but for the price I had to try. The rear derailleur has adapted to a higher (grandmother's low) without any problems. This is a huge improvement for my little fella who has extremely low range on steep climbs. The quality seems good too.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Not Sure

Good choice for MTB

Replaced my SHIMANO Alivio 7 speed (12-32) with this LITEONE 8 speed (11-40 tooth) and improved performance uphill with 40 teeth and downhill with 11 teeth. Rugged construction, flawless performance with a SRAM X.4 rear derailleur with rear derailleur hanger extension to accommodate a larger 40T.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Available in black only

Poor workmanship and short life

The first problem I had with this cassette was that the 11 tooth cog did not fit well with the loose cassette. This should be enforced. The lid that came with it doesn't screw on, so I had to use the old one. Then on the first ride, after about 2 miles, the 34T cogs bent badly. I think you get what you pay for.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Nothing here

Great for kids bike upgrade

Replaced 13-32 Sun Race with my daughter Rossignol. A lot more range, it can handle climbs a lot better and it has a bit more headroom. Shimano Tourney 8S Pivot swapped out for my old Deore XT triggers. Worked on both, no need to lengthen the derailleur. Added hollow chain, much easier to ride now.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Cable shorter than others

Incredible value! - Cassettes and ratchets

It was as easy as peeling pears. The results were exactly what I had hoped for. Now I can climb big hills. I wanted "grandma's mechanism" and I got it. Since I'm old enough to be a grandfather, maybe I should call it "grandfather gear." Thank you for creating this outstanding product. I use it with a shifter that is too short and a derailleur extension with great success. Everything is fine here at Revain.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Why isn't that mentioned?

Depending on your bike you may need a Shimano 11 speed 1.85mm spacer. My cartridge wasn't moving to the right and I figured it was the length of the carriage spindle. I separated my cassette from the driver body and found that it had damaged the driver body. Fortunately, the hub can still be used. The cassette also had an unusual wobble. What I knew wasn't normal. After installing the spacer 1.85 knocking disappeared.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Operating speed

Oklahoma gravel approved.

Due to stock issues at my regular supplier I decided to take the Amazon route for this cartridge rather than the Microshift I was looking at. This cassette was installed on a 2008 Kona Dew Plus that I converted to a gravel bike. I've only ridden it close to 200 miles so far, but it's weathered rain, mud and a ton of dust and shifted great. I'll let you know if I run into any catastrophic failures :P. BTW I took it out on a tech singletrack and this hub has crappy engagement and as a crossโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Large and bulky

Good cassette for the money

I wanted to see how an 8 speed 11-40T cassette would work on my old mountain bike. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a cassette in case the project should fail. I had to buy a derailleur extension to get the cassette to work. For the money, this cassette shifts both ways pretty smoothly. It's not high-end Shimano or SRAM quality, but it works great for what I do. It is very easy to install and adjust the switch. I have it on a Specialized Hard Rock Comp 2000 frame with a triple ringโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Band

Will not work with Shimano STC RC derailleur

I bought this cassette based on Revain reviews to fit an old mountain bike with Shimano HG loose hub and STC RC derailleur. I removed the original Shimano 11-30 cassette, installed a Liteone 11-40 cassette and added a derailleur hanger extension. I made several attempts over the course of two days to get the derailleur to work with this cassette but could never get it to shift 5-6 gears properly or get it to shift into the lowest gear all the time , regardless of whether the limit was setโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great price
