It is large enough and also shaped to easily protect and clean all areas. We have 4 dogs and 1 cat (don't judge too harshly ;). Needless to say, it was badly needed. I bought this because it was described as "scratch resistant". My roommate's cat puncture marks not only just walked over them (because the material didn't deter them), but now they've actually scratched my new leather sofa through the upholstery. It's been a week. Prevented 3 incidents involving our cat's urine on a lovely sofa that has been partially reupholstered and cleaned. Despite professional cleaning, it is almost impossible to remove the smell, so the animal does not come back and try to mark its territory again. Humans cannot smell the smell.
