Smells and meets expectations

I think this is a great option for beginners, but I can't get over the unpleasant smell. It's been 24 hours and the smell is still there. It's a good black, however, and the colors come out well. I would recommend it if you can't get it anywhere else and can somehow clean it up first.

Continuous. Well done. Great for embroidery.

This fabric is good for embroidery. It doesn't stretch. I would compare it to a burlap fabric with a tighter weave and higher thread count. This is not a cross stitch doily. This is currently my favorite fabric for embroidery.

Uneven weave, lumps on the fabric

Returned to cross stitch after a long absence. I bought this black fabric and started sewing. When I started designing, I found two bulges on the fabric. I also noticed that the weave was uneven which caused the seams to come out uneven. I stopped working on this fabric and had to find a quality black Aida fabric. It took a while to realize that there weren't many cross stitch shops left and big stores like Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc mostly only sell white ones. I finally found Zweigart in…
