Summary - CB2000C is a good buy! I paid $330 for this microscope as a gift to a friend. The optics are sharp and bright from 40X to 2000X. I'm a professional optics engineer and notoriously picky about optics. However, I can be disappointed with expensive optics and very impressed with cheap optics.

Pros
  • There's something in there
Cons
  • Can do harm

EXCELLENT Laboratory Microscope, surpassing #1 Best Seller

As a professional scientist and avid hobbyist, I have used and owned many student, mid-range, and high-end laboratory microscopes. When it comes to optical technology, I've found that quality "glass" REALLY pays more. The CB2000C is more expensive than the best-selling Omax and AmScope products, but for over $100 you're getting a RELIABLE piece of lab glassware. There is VERY little plastic in this scope, so it's quite heavy, providing a stable sight and durability. All moving parts are well…
