1 Amp Only - Power Adapters

This is an adapter for 1 amp devices such as phones or tablets. It does not work with car devices such as vacuum cleaners, coolers, etc. Nowhere have I seen that in the description. I'm sure it works for its intended purpose, but I have to trade it for my use.

Works exactly as advertised

I use this to precharge my car's GPS and DVR when I'm at home. My GPS needs to be fully charged before downloading and installing updates, so I bring it in, charge it with this converter and get my job done.

Ideal for powering a Garmin GPS at home

A great way to power my car and boat accessories at home! Make sure you buy one with enough "juice" for your application. Wattage/Current varies - check specs - some are as low as 500 milliamps. That's 1000 milliamps. This is perfect for Garmin Echomap Chirp GPS/Fishfinder.

Doesn't provide the amps I need If you're just connecting a cell phone it will probably work, but other than that it's a huge waste of money knowing there are other adapters out there that do what I need need an electric cool box. We need more power, Scotty!

Less than advertised

I bought this to power my existing fan which is designed to use a car cigarette lighter socket. When I plugged the unit in it just flashed and didn't power the unit even though the fan required less power than the outlet claimed. Very disappointing as it seems many stores no longer sell such devices and almost all devices listed on Amazon suffer from the same issue.

Ideal for use with car chargers in your home.

Accidentally borrowed a phone charger from a friend as we have the same phones. She had to use her car charger. I sent her charger back but ordered one of these for her so she could have a choice and charge her phone at home with a car charger. I've always used one of these to charge my GPS at home before a trip. Yang had no idea they existed. I don't see them at Target or any other stores anymore. Glad to find it in Revain.

Works but watch out for the current

It works well although you know what you can and can't connect to it. It only supplies 1A of current, so it's really only good for charging a cell phone, GPS device, etc. It doesn't even work with my electric coffee thermos - as soon as the heating element turns on, my thermos turns off. because he apparently tried to draw more than 1A. Don't expect this to work for tire inflation, air compressors, etc. anything that uses a lot of power. (There are other converters for high current devices)…
