I use this flat iron at the roots to make my straight fine hair look fuller and fuller. The wider plate allows me to crimp more. It's comfortable to hold, has a tangle-free cord that's not too short, and I love the 5 temperature settings.

Crimped like a crimping tool. Works like expensive or cheap for me. I mainly use mine to add volume to my roots. Pinch lines are small. Not tiny little curls like I've seen, but does the job of lifting my hair the way I want it and just as well.

I don't know why it got bad reviews, this crimp worked fine and didn't overheat like some others said. It has a range of different temperature settings which is great because I could see how hot I could heat it without melting my wig. You can see in these photos that it was at the third temperature, 180C, and my wig was fine. I would still do a strand test, start low and only work your way up to a safe level. This thing gets VERY hot. Hotter than all my irons even at the minimum setting "140". Should be at least 350 on the lowest settings. The whole thing gets too hot to touch and the red paint starts to get too sticky, like it's melting. Has seriously melted my hair
