Excellent buckle. You can use the unlock scheme

I already had one like that. Initially unlocking was a problem. I was expecting most of it to open up. An unlock scheme would be nice. The clasp is more like a pawl about one and a half thick. Run your hand to the bottom of the buckle and find the clasp, breathe in a little without tightening the belt. After breathing, the closure can be easily rotated and thus unlocked. Hope this is helpful.

Pictures are misleading

Although the items received appear to be of good quality, they do not meet my expectations when ordering. The pictures online show plain gold variants, however the two I received show lion heads. I did NOT choose that.

trigger mechanism in my review

I am very happy with the buckle, I love eagles. Different manufacturers of sliding belt buckles use different types of release mechanisms. Practice a little with the share tab so you don't get frustrated when you have to share it, especially when it's urgent.

Perfect replacement for old broken buckles

Perfect for my 1 3/8 ratchet straps with broken buckles. This is a lot cheaper than buying brand new belts. The strap end slides straight in and the strap gripper teeth close tight and hold tight. The ratchet side looks and works the same as the original buckles. The buckles are beautifully finished and look great with the white background and metallic accent. Once in gold, once in silver.

Good quality, the best in my rating

Good quality buckle. I bought this thinking it would be a 35mm (1-1/8) belt buckle. It turns out to be a 40mm buckle for a 35mm wide belt. Works well on a 35mm wide ratchet strap.
