The rod sleeves fit snugly into the wardrobe rod but will work IF you don't have an extension. The extension slips over the original rod, so it's thicker and can never enter the canal. Even without an extension, it's very difficult to tighten the screws, so be prepared to exercise your hands and use a good screwdriver.

These hooks were just what I needed. The screws required little force, but were very easy to assemble and very stable. I got a closet rod from Home Depot and it snapped into place perfectly. I have many hangers on this rod and the photo shows they don't sag or bend. I've tried several hooks and I'm glad I finally found them.

I bought two of these to replace the original mounts after the original mount failed (top broke off, original seems poor design, not enough material at highest load point ). They're easy to install and seem better designed, so I'm hoping that in a few years I won't have a closet full of coats and a broken rod. They were a bit more expensive than the original design (which is also available on Amazon), but I'd rather spend a few bucks more now and not have to replace them again in a few years.

This design is much better than the original one-piece hanger, although it uses a separate latch and screw. The original hanger could not handle the stress of hanging clothes, which broke the hanger's key function and rendered the item unusable.
