A skewer blade with a broken tip. They may be good for meat but not veggies because they are too thick and wide they tear veggies. They bend and bend easily when food is placed on them.

I've finally refined the perfect skewers with these flat blades - flat blades that aren't too wide for shallots and New Yukon, but wide enough for kafta and tossing without turning short enough to fit my grill in multiple ways, strong enough not to bend, and no wooden handles to burn.

4 stars simply because they are "too short" for a standard BBQ grill. The size is about 12 inches. Otherwise they are good. Durable and easy to use. I bought these because I wanted to use them without my grill grates, right over the heat of the mesquite coals, but my grill is about 24 inches so they didn't fit (literally).

Okay that's just my fault but I didn't check the size and when they arrived they were way bigger than I ever thought a skewer should be. I thought all the skewers were the same size (beginners grill here!). I got skewers that were 14" or 17" long, which is slightly larger than I wanted. However, they are very strong.

These skewers have nice features. Here they are: * Wide "blades" prevent food from rotating on a skewer. Food doesn't need to be skewered twice.* Durable stainless steel that's easy to keep clean. These stainless steel skewers are of excellent quality, strong yet flexible. The handle is easy to grip and hold, and the flat shape of the skewers prevents food from tipping or rolling, making it easier to cook evenly and rotate and cook evenly in different directions. They store away easily and I love that they have their own storage pocket which you'll appreciate if you've ever stuck your hand in a drawer to grab something and got stuck on the skewer. When I received the package and opened it, I was hesitant because they were huge. I don't grill often and mostly grill in the oven. Second, I have grilled fish like salmon and whitefish that are softer than beef or chicken. I did the test and voila, the fish didn't fall off the skewers.
