Cannot attach diffusers

The two supplied diffusers cannot be attached (tried for 30 minutes). Tried to see if there were any "pips" that needed to be smoothed out, and tried "brutal force" as well, but none of the attempts were successful. Looks like they're now charging me 15% of my refund for a 'restocking fee'.
