LOVE IT! Two years ago I was given a pepper mill that I liked so much that I decided to buy a salt mill as well. Big enough to hold a lot but not too heavy and I can use it in oven mitts. Remember - when going from coarse to fine you will need to turn a few times to remove any large chunks that remain in the work before you get down to a fine grind. Fine is really good, coarse is really clumsy. Easy to keep clean, easy to charge, easy to use.

Pros
  • Wide range

  • Vanish

Quality grinding, but very very slow!

I did some research and bought this highly recommended grinder two years ago. It works great, and if it proves durable - which is better considering the cost - I'll be happy. Something like. But it has one big problem: a high gear ratio, so it's very easy to turn, but it takes forever to get enough. I sometimes buy Tone black pepper that comes in a bottle with a disposable plastic grinder and it actually works a lot better - harder to turn, but a lot faster. So: if you have arthritis or another

Just unbelievable. . . But. . .

Received this for Father's Day and was immediately amazed at how changing the coffee grinder can affect the taste of the same peppers. My 12 year old coffee grinder was probably half the price of this one and it did the job. Or so I thought. It's on a whole different level. He manages to extract 5 times more flavor from the same pepper. Even my wife agrees. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because the first one was defective. Judging by the picture attached to the mill, it will…

Pros
  • Excellently done
Cons
  • Empty

I bought this based on reviews and warranty. Loved them at first, good grind consistency, then mine broke outside of the manufacturer, they reduced the 1 year warranty on the case and refused to replace it. Remember that it has been broken through daily use without dropping it. So save some money and buy a cheaper device as I've read reviews from several other brands. I think I can get a pepper and salt grinder for less than a Cole and Mason grinder and the reviews have been far from favorable.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • No insurance

Recommended America's Test Kitchen

America's Test Kitchen rated this as their favorite pepper grinder. It is easily adjustable, if desired it goes from fine grinding to coarser grinding. Holds half a cup of regular sized peppercorns, is easy to fill and looks good too. We liked it so much we bought another one for sea salt. Now we have two of them, one for salt and one for pepper. You can see from the photos that you only have to remove the lid to fill it and simply put it back on after filling. The other photo shows the basic…

Hm, choose wisely.

I have had coffee grinders for 4 years now. That's a lot of money for me, but I liked the look of these grinders in BBB and I liked that the grind size was set and not guessed, so I went with that. Year 1 Within a few months most of the print is erased. Especially salt, because it is used more here. it is also clear that i have to wipe them all over because they leave traces of abrasion. I've since spotted the tray and it will definitely cost $10, it should come with it. Year 2 Salt is not…

So far: like! suitable for kitchen and dining room

I bought my lifetime supply of ground salt from a large warehouse whose name begins with the letter C and found the plastic grinder didn't work. The salt was returned (this S---company accepts the return of almost anything, almost forever). After some calculations, the customer service rep managed to remove the coffee grinder's broken lid, leaving me with a lifetime supply of fancy pink salt, but nothing to grind into. I figured the path of least resistance would be to just buy an actual coffee
