I was very happy about this hammer as it would make our life a lot easier when setting up and taking down our family tent. Unfortunately with 1 hammer blow the handle came loose and it's almost impossible to use. Apart from that good design and solid construction in other parts of the hammer.
This product is disappointing. The hook is not part of the shaft but attached to the handle. When pulling up the pegs, the handle slipped off the shaft. The wave broke after a few rides. This may be fine if you are only using small wire pegs, but if you are on hard ground or have large pegs this will not hold.
That thing is a dead hot garbage heap. This worked great for a couple of hikes, but after about the third time the head doesn't stay in place. After a good hit, the head will now spin, making it like a game where you're trying to get into a tent. If you're just using it for the tiny stakes that come with the tent then that might be fine, but this thing isn't even remotely worth the cost.
We bought two of these hammers because we love them. Our previous rubber mallet had a rubber handle that just broke over time, so the metal handle was definitely a plus for us. We also have a large tent (12 x 20 cm with additional vestibule) that requires several stakes to set up. It definitely goes faster with two people making bets. I hope the rubber will hold up as a few small pieces have been ripped out. The post puller is definitely a great addition to this tool, but don't push the posts…
