We use them for rinsing vegetables and fruit and for storing them in the fridge (before rinsing). Rectangular collapsible sieves are much more practical! We have a nicer and more expensive option which I would give 5 stars but as they say this one is great for the price! Would definitely buy again!

Can't say anything but love this colander. This is an essential item for those who save space in your home, and it will be a wonderful gift! I chose green, the material is durable and seems to have long-term benefits. The fact that it's dishwasher safe is a blessing and it's easy to clean, no more digging or soaking the strainer! You will definitely not be disappointed!

This strainer does exactly what it is supposed to do. I have no complaints about the functionality. But it's a big, clumsy animal and I don't know what to do with it. It barely fits in my closet, even when folded, and is very chunky. It takes up a large portion of my dishwasher. I don't really have room in my kitchen for all of this stuff so I think I'll get rid of it, but I don't know if the strainer is to blame or if it's me.

This sieve is absolutely perfect for me! I have arthritis and I found it difficult to strain hot food (boiled potatoes, pasta, etc.) because I had to hold the pot/pan with both hands. I've always hated that strainers sit at the bottom of the sink and can easily get dirty with water that drains too slowly. That's great! There is no possibility of contamination and I can pour the contents of the pot/pan with both hands. Brilliant!

I decided to try the plastic after about five years of using a stainless steel screen that started to rust on the top edges. The plastic strainer is suitable for washing fruit and straining pasta. However, it is not suitable for defrosting fish or vegetables as there is not enough ventilation to allow them to drain and dry. I thought that thing was really cool. I don't have a lot of space to store pots and pans so I liked that it was collapsible. I was hoping it would be better than bowl shaped colanders but to be honest it has a few other pros and cons. Pros: 1.) Easily washes things like vegetables and fruits. 2.) It makes it a little easier to drop things on it since it closes the sink and you don't have to use your hands to steady it. (There is a downside to this, however.) 3.)
