When I ordered this I thought it was a thick fleece, it is actually a light fleece. I was a little disappointed, but then it turned out to be really useful. It's perfect for layering, it's light and soft, my son likes to wear it, the fleece itself is quite warm, you can add a vest or other jacket when you go out. I've washed it several times and it's still soft and looks beautiful.

Where my son goes to school, they are not allowed to wear hooded jackets and they are not allowed to wear coats during the day. However, they are allowed to wear a fleece sweater during the day if they are cold. I bought it for him and he wears it almost every day. It has been washed many times but it still holds up and looks good. I will be buying him another one soon!

Looks like a good sweater overall. My son needed something to wear to school beyond the dress code. He is quite short for his age (11) at 53 inches tall and weighs less than 60 pounds [super skinny]. I chose Medium (10/12) thinking there would be enough room to layer. I asked him to try it on over the shirt and it fits the body well but looks a little tighter than I expected. If he was a medium sized kid in the 10/12 size range I would go up a size. It would probably be too close to the body…
