Only buy if you don't need a zipper.

The coat is warm enough but the zipper is terrible. While I first thought the problems were because a five-year-old has yet to develop fine motor skills, even his adult parents have trouble unzipping or unzipping because it often gets caught in the fabric underneath. I will not be buying another Columbia jacket for kids or adults. Very disappointed after buying childrens outerwear from Columbia for several winters.

Pros
  • COLD WEATHER INSULATION: Filled with our thick 240g Farnhot polyester fill, this jacket offers a versatile fit, maximum warmth and fun on the slopes.
Cons
  • Only available in black

Great jacket, see price

Ordered a new one after my 2 year hiatus. I had one with us. Slightly different design, maybe because it's newer or a size bigger. Didn't realize the description says the fit is a little longer than other snow/freeze jackets so it looks a bit large on him but he will grow on it. Pay attention to the prices, some colors and sizes randomly fluctuate tones, I got ours in August when it went from $80 to $25.

Pros
  • COMFORTABLE FEATURES: Three season jacket with taffeta lined storm hood, zip chest pocket, two zip hand pockets and adjustable cuffs to keep you warm and dry inside.
Cons

Versatile winter jacket for kids!

Columbia makes great winter jackets for kids! This is the third Columbia jacket we've bought because it really stands up to our harsh Alaskan winters and the fast growing kids. they are in the right price range. My son often takes them off when tobogganing in winter because he gets too hot! Of course, that's because he wears snowsuits underneath and usually a sweatshirt for layering. We recommend these jackets for their warmth and water resistance, which is a plus. A downside is that zippers…

Pros
  • RIPSTOP NYLON HANDLE: This jacket with fun graphics is dirt and water repellent made from 100% Hydra Cloth 3000 Nylon, a durable ripstop material perfect for active boys.
Cons
  • Long delivery time
