Not very durable - computer cable adapter

Works but not durable at all, also the two different length threaded screws that come with the unit seem a little too long or too short depending on use. These items appear to be a factory defect and are being sold at full price, which I have seen many times at Revain.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Update available

Works perfectly. - Computers and accessories

The only problem I had is that the screws that go through the PC to tighten them don't have a washer so they don't slide out all the way. I made a cable that doesn't always fit and by the second day the screws were lost. Not a big deal for my application, but exacerbates nonetheless.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Having problems

Get one for each tool kit!

Every network engineer needs this little piece of simple technology. In seconds I was able to reconnect the ethernet patch cable to use with the Ciena console cable. Then repeat for something else. Get one for your everyday use and buy some for friends for Christmas! I mean. if they are nerds too.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Quality

Well made, easy to connect cables.

First I connected my wires and used a voltmeter to find out which hole connected to which wire. I used it to connect to an old set of Bose 321 gem speakers. Didn't want to cut into existing Bose cables. I connected each speaker in series with an impedance of 8 ohms. Works great with my Sony 5.1 receiver.

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • Some little things

Great way to connect DB25 connectors and change wires

scanner programmer cable assembly and needed a way to change the configuration until he got the scanner programmed properly and no more soldering and desoldering connections wanted to continue. This setup worked great, not much larger than a standard DB25 and still fit in the laptop and scanner port. I will buy more if needed.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Was damaged

Excellent way to connect a DB25 connector and replace wires

Making up a programming cable for a scanner programmer and he needed a way to change the configuration until he had programmed the scanner properly and was tired of soldering and desoldering connections. This setup worked great, not much larger than a standard DB25 and still fit in the laptop and scanner port. I will buy more if needed.

Pros
  • No soldering required! It's so convenient. Housing can prevent short circuits
Cons
  • Only available in black

Great for making custom cables

I needed to create a custom mini din to DB9 serial cable for a project I was working on. This little adapter made it easy for me to create a "standard" DB9 end for easy connection to my PC. I cut an old mini din cable, crimped a couple of spade lugs onto separate wires, then connected them to the adapter's screw terminals. Everything worked great. My only complaint is that the terminal screws are not threaded properly - they are threaded too long so the screws don't "snap" into the adapter like

Pros
  • COM port connector RS232/485 connector
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

! Check your pin configuration before you go!

We bought the product TWICE and the first time we connected this RS232 using the pin numbers printed on page 2,3,5. (Standard RS232 connections) Well it turns out their numbers printed on their connector weren't 2,3,5 for RS232 which gave us a lot of heartburn when we were wiring a home automation system to a security panel. Finally we checked with a multimeter and found that it uses pins 9, 8, 6! "Someone" at the factory must have been sleeping at work! The second time we bought this product…

Pros
  • Package Contents: 10 DB9 adapters with case and 30 protective sleeves
Cons
  • Not bad but...
