I always throw my silver earrings into the jewelery cleaning container at home. This works for a few minutes, but it's a little messy. I thought it would be nice to try this pen cleaner. I tried it and can't say it worked. The solution came out from under the pin but it doesn't seem to make the earrings clean and shiny. After rinsing them in water, I could tell a small difference. My original cleaner works better. It's a gem cleaner, so it's probably better for stones.

I'm just guessing this product might come in handy when traveling. The system itself is quite tiring and you need to be close to a water source. In other words, if you go through all that to clean rings and the like, I find it just as easy to use a damp, slightly soapy toothbrush when you're on vacation. This pen cleaner is ok although I prefer the dip cleaner system for jewelry. However, it's a good idea to toss a bag or diaper bag if you're out and find that your jewelry is looking a little messy. With this gemstone cleaner, you first remove the white cap, wet the brush and then rotate the bottom until the purple cleaner comes out, which releases quite a bit at once, so you you have to stop constantly, to roll more cleaner and when you're done you'll need to rinse the cleaner off your jewelry and brush, dry them and your brush, then put your white cap back on.
